Paul Cobban
Paul Cobban is an advisor, writer, public speaker and executive coach. He is the former Chief Data and Transformation Officer at DBS Bank where he led the acclaimed transformation from 2009 to 2022 resulting in DBS becoming the first bank in history to simultaneously hold “World’s Best Bank” (Euromoney), “Best Bank in the World” (Global Finance) and “World’s Best Bank” (The Banker). The DBS transformation has been recognised by HBR as one of the top 10 transformations of the decade alongside Netflix, Amazon and Microsoft. Paul’s work on creating cultures for innovation and transformation has featured in many books, articles and case studies including HBR, Forrester, SMU, MIT Sloan, NTU, IMD and IESE.
Paul co-authored the book, Eat Sleep Innovate (nominated for the Thinkers 50 Innovation Award) and several articles including “Breaking Down Barriers to Innovation” in HBR which was nominated for the inaugural Clayton Christensen award.
Paul’s unique practitioner experience is highly sought after. Paul now advises and coaches “Leading Transformation” to executives and boards of international corporates and governments across the globe. He partners several renowned academic institutions is an Industry Fellow at MIT Center for Information Systems Research (CISR).
Prior to working at DBS, Paul worked at IBM, J.P. Morgan and StandardChartered. He in based in Edinburgh, UK.
